The Association of British Travel Agents is the UK's Premier Trade Association for Tour Operators and Travel Agents. ABTA's 800 tour operators and 6300 travel agency offices are responsible for the sale of some 80% of UK-sold holidays. ABTA is perhaps best known for the consumer protection it provides to customers booking a holiday with an ABTA member.
ABTA consistently promotes UK tourism and a significant percentage of our members’ turnover is generated by UK holidays. In 2003 ABTA launched a successful "Book Britain" poster campaign through our travel agent members aimed at promoting the UK as a holiday destination. ABTA co-sponsored the "British Resorts and Destinations 2007" publication.
