Destination

Welcome to Herefordshire, where the people help to make your visit memorable. Whether it's your accommodation host, the gourmet chef at one of the many top restaurants or the local butcher or baker at the Farmers’ Markets - Herefordshire people are renowned for their hospitality, good food and excellent service.
Prepare to be amazed by the stunning scenery of this rich county. Come and discover our secrets; big open skies, the empty roads, the rivers and valleys, ancient towns and villages of this unique and peaceful county, where you can restore your spirits and renew your love of England.
As well as spectacular scenery there’s plenty to do to revive your spirits, with a wide choice of sporting, cultural and gourmet activities including the Flavours Of Herefordshire Food Festival each October and The award-winning University Of The Great Outdoors Festival each May. If you enjoy eating, walking, wildlife, gardening, fishing, canoeing, painting or photography – you won’t find a better holiday destination.

What's on Offer

Entertainment

Theatres around the county provide a variety of concerts and plays, whilst many pubs regularly host live bands. Eastnor Castle provides the setting for the annual Big Chill Festival, which is now an important event in the musical calendar. See www.visitherefordshire.co.uk for a list of events.

Shopping

Hereford has the range of stores that you would expect of a cathedral city, as well as interesting shops and galleries tucked off the main precinct. The market towns, such as Leominster and Ledbury, and some of the larger villages, have antiques shops and individual retailers selling unusual items. The monthly farmers' markets held in Hereford and in the market towns are an excellent source of local food and drink.

Eating Out

Herefordshire boasts the first pub in England to be awarded a Michelin star, the Stagg Inn at Titley, but across the county you will find excellent gastro-pubs and tea-rooms, whilst Hereford’s range of cafés and restaurants includes the riverside Floodgates Brasserie and Café @ All Saints, a vegetarian café situated inside a working church.
