Beach & Amenities

North Norfolk has a diverse coastline which runs for 43 miles from Holkham in the west to Happisburgh in the east. Many of the beaches have won Blue Flag and seaside awards for cleanliness and facilities. Beach huts can be found on the promenades at Cromer, Sheringham, Mundesley and along the fringe of the pinewoods at Wells-Next-the-Sea. Trips to Blakeney Point, a nature reserve, bird sanctuary and home for both common and grey seals, can be taken from Morston.

Particular points of interest are: Blakeney Point, Cromer Pier, North Norfolk Railway, the Norfolk Broads.

North Norfolk’s towns and villages offer everything from ships’ chandlers in Blakeney, potters and smokehouses in Cley, antiques and specialist nurseries in Wells, to boutiques and Oriental handicrafts in Cromer and Sheringham.

Holt is a mecca for specialist shops, for those searching for something a little different. Please contact the North Norfolk Information Centre for information on market days.

There is an abundance of places to eat out in North Norfolk – restaurants, hotels, pubs, cafes, bistros and typical English fish and chip shops. Discovering somewhere new to eat is never a problem.

Recreation & Sport

North Norfolk offers a choice of swimming pools, golf courses, sports centres, bowling greens, bowling alleys and much more. Why not spend a day at the horse races? Fakenham Race Course is situated on the edge of Fakenham town at Hempton.
